The theory for the beginning is good enough but what about the end?
afterall boundaries are important, aren't they? So what is there at the boundary of our spectacular and mysterious universe?
Well, the simple and obvious answer is "Nothing". But is that all? Does our vast universe just end in a litteral cliff-hanger? This simple topic is teeming with questions (if you know where to look, you'll find even more😉). Now comes the part with the simplified complicated answers.
The Big Bang (Or something else) Isn't over yet.
Despite what you might think the universe isn't complete, not yet. But it is still expanding, faster than you would have ever expected (this is a proof that a big rip can occur). In fact The speed of the expansion of our universe is 68 Km/s per megaparsec. A parsec is 3.26 million light-years, while a megaparsec is a million parsecs. For every megaparsec travelled by the edge of our universe you add 68 km/s to its velocity.
And as our observeble universe has a diameter of about 28.5 gigaparsecs ( 1 giga parsec = 1 billion parsecs) it has long crossed the speed of light, considering that it only takes 4000-ish parsecs (I've done the math, trust me) to travel at the speed of light.
The cosmic speed limit is crossed.
Now, enough with the numbers, lets get to the facts and the reasoning behind them.
we all were taught that nothing could pass the speed of light. so how did the edge of the universe cross this speed limit? well, I have a theory that what we were taught was technically true! Nothing can pass the speed of light, except... the very fabric of reality!
Back to Square one.
so, lets go back to square one, literally.
we accepted that however shaky the theory of
the big bang may be, the universe definitely "Expanded into
being" (there are theories that say otherwise but the general
proof points towards this approach). well, if matter could be
"expelled" or "dispersed" then it should be able to be
"carried along". And that's exactly whats happening! Whole clusters
of galaxies are being carried away farther and farther from us, and most of them
are travelling at or over the speed of light this is where "The theory" comes in. it's not light, matter or Light matter that is traveling faster than 299,792,458 m/s it is the "SPACE TIME CONTINUEM" itself. Otherwise known as the "fabric of space and reality", this is the literal base of the universe. And we're just at the tip of the ice berg!
So what is there at the edge of the universe? what happens when we go faster than light? How DO we know that galaxies are moving faster than the speed of light? what is this so called "NOTHINGNESS" that perfectly makes no sence? and the biggest question of all:- what do we do with all this information?
